Marsala: Pantone Color of the Year 2015

So I read a quote yesterday about something that may peak your interest. “[This] enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. [It] is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”

Confident? Stable? Seductive? Are we talking about my future husband or a shade of color here?!

Damn, Marsala it is.

As we all know, with a new year comes new trends, new designs, new colors- and you can see these directly reflected in interior design. While I’m personally not the biggest fan of much red-toned colors, Marsala truly is so beautiful- it’s like a deep, rich almost-bordeaux reddish brown. (It’s fantastic in fashion too, btw!) Marsala pairs well with neutrals, amber/golden yellows, greens in both turquoise and teal, and blues in the more vibrant range. I’ve come across a few ways that this color does indeed bring a classic, seductive, warm look into spaces:

Here are a few of my favorite Marsala pieces and some ways you can incorporate this *winning* color into your home:

What’s your favorite way to decorate with Marsala?!
