Review: Hotel Indigo, Athens, GA

A few weeks back, I ventured down to one my favorite cities in the whole world- Athens, GA!!! Athens is the home of the Georgia Bulldogs (my alma mater), the birthplace of REM, and my most favorite restaurant of all time!

 {Seriously, if you’re ever in Athens, you MUST go to Last Resort. Get some FGTs!!}

While in Athens, my friends & I decided to stay at the new-to-us Hotel Indigo. I’d heard great things, but I wasn’t really sure to expect, since none of us had ever stayed there.

The dog friendly, boutique hotel is perfectly located downtown, walking distance to all of the great bars, shops & restaurants. It has 130 rooms, a full service restaurant, a huge outdoor patio with fire pit, and an amazing downstairs space with another full bar, a chic lounge area & big screen tv. Fun tip: head to the lobby bar for the make-your-own Blood Mary bar, with a wide variety of delicious toppings!

We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our room. It easily accommodated all 4 (umm…I mean 3) of us and all of our luggage. We never felt cramped and had plenty of room to get ready, eat our pre-game ritual bagel sandwiches & watch ESPN. There were plenty of mirrors and an abundance of natural lighting!

One of my favorite things about the hotel was how clean and new it felt. Because it’s a LEED certified building, the interiors are filled with natural elements (bamboo, slate, cotton) and floor to ceiling windows in every room.  The vibe was just very eclectic-chic. We loved every minute of our stay!

All in all, I can’t recommend this hotel enough! If you’re looking for a fun, comfortable, easy stay- look no further.

Have you ever been to Hotel Indigo?! What about Athens, GA?!
