Life Lately Vol. 3

Happy Friday! We are headed to Philly today & New Jersey for the rest of the weekend. The forecast is 85 & sunny so we’ll be setting up camp on the beach for a couple of days! We’ll be taking our frenchie with us (on Spirit!) so hoping for an easy flight…

{Mela loves flying}

Speaking of the beach, I’ve been looking to invest in some new swimsuits this year since Victoria’s Secret discontinued their swim line! (Wah). I like the Vix ones at Nordstrom but they’re super pricey. Any suggestions for affordable, cute bathing suits?!

Eating: Mason jar salads! Now, obviously this is not a new concept but as someone who brings my lunch to work everyday, I want something healthy, easy & delicious! I’ve been on the Greek salad kick for legit like 4 months now. I keep thinking I’ll tire of it but I enjoy it every single day. I layer (from bottom up) olive oil/red wine vinegar mix, red onions, chick peas, feta cheese, cucumbers, red peppers, green peppers & lettuce. I make 5 on Sunday and boom- lunch done! Anyone have any non-Greek style mason jar salads/meals they recommend?

Reading: A lot of upsetting airline stories lately! First there was Bumpgate, then the stroller incident, then the deplorable responses from airlines (looking at you, United)…ugh, it’s such a shame because travel should be FUN! Whether you fly often or once in a blue moon, it’s super important to make yourself aware of your behavior. I find that it’s best to be prepared to alleviate stress (from yourself, other passengers, officials, etc). What does that mean? Have your ID & boarding pass out, get your sh*t together when going through security (or get global entry like me so you don’t have to!), and be cognizant of the boarding process. There’s nothing more annoying than kids running around while boarding begins, or passengers rushing the gate when they’ve got zone 5 boarding, or some jerk so deep into their phone that they’re holding up the line!

Be polite, be passionate & be present.

Wearing: I currently can’t get enough of the bare shoulder tops. It’s really mixed weather here in Boston so these are perfect for the in between weather. This white one, this floral one & this blue striped one are some current favorites!

What’s on your agenda for this weekend?!

Friday Favorite

Happy Friday y’all! This weekend is pretty much my last “calm before the storm” weekend. There’s not too much on the agenda besides some workouts, an anniversary dinner date, and prepping the house. Come next week, our weekends are chalk full of out-of-town guests, Thanksgiving travel, trips to LA, wine country, NYC, Atlanta, New Jersey & more. Don’t forget about Christmas! Oh, and that little thing called work! haha.

Needless to say, some exciting things ahead. For now, I need this calm, relaxing photo:

How beautiful is this room from Sophia Bush’s newly renovated home?! Ugh, I want.

ps. Anthropologie is having 20% off home right now! Pick up my favorite candle, chic mercury vases, some holiday glassware, a new white duvet or this badass chair.

HAPPY FRIDAY 🙂

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y’all! I’ve been stuck in a work conference the past three days for about 10+ hours each day, but luckily we’ve had some down time so I’ve been on Pinterest a LOT! (Follow me @southendstyle) . The below pictures are especially fabulous, if I do say so myself! Enjoy friends…

White tile walls + black tile floors + touches of wood = my dream bathroom! So timeless…

1

While I definitely love round mirrors & this white console, these wood panels are what stole the show- how fabulous are these?! A nice alternative to the ever popular white shiplap…

2.jpg

This bathroom is so bold, what a risk that paid off! I’m loving the cobalt vanity and the roman shades with matching lining (roman shades are always a win in bathrooms!)…

3.jpg

A bright, white boho chic bedroom by the talented Amber…

This is the kind of cozy, chic, stylish nook I could spend hours in…

Have a great weekend 🙂

Happy Friday y’all! I’m making a quick weekend trip to Atlanta to celebrate mom’s birthday, watch my Dawgs play (let’s get a W please!), check on a dining room renovation I’m helping with & hang with some friends. Enjoy 🙂

A stunning white bedroom, just in case you missed my ode to white bedding in Monday’s post…

1

Holy floors – these are spectacular! So Parisian and making me miss Paris…

2

These windows! OH MY GOODNESS, how I would kill for these windows…

3

The farmhouse sink just makes this room for me…

Friday Favorites: Master Bedrooms

Happy Friday y’all! I hope that you had a productive, enjoyable week. I’m definitely ready for the weekend. Another local weekend on the agenda, filled with some crossfit, a surprise birthday party, watching my Dawgs play (and hopefully win!), and some apple picking, if the weather is right!

For this week’s edition of “Friday Favorites”is bedroom specific. Fall seems to be a time when people want to give a little refresh to their main spaces. Stay tuned for more tutorials & styling tips in upcoming weeks. For now, let me help you get inspired…

Great example of mixing fabric textures to create warmth – all monochromatic with a hint of glam in the chandelier & statement art on the walls (when in doubt, go bigger vs smaller)…

01

This stunning ceiling speaks for itself! I like how the rest of the room has natural, off-white tones to compliment the ceiling’s nature feel…

02

The detailed molding is a fantastic way to transform a blank wall when art isn’t the route you want to go. It’s minimalist & simple, yet interesting & relaxing…

03

I’ve shown this bedroom before, but there are a few specific things I love, especially the layering of the rug (damn you, carpet!), the oversized full length mirror & balancing set of 4 framed art. They clearly turned this room from drab to fab…

04

Firstly, I love the color of the wood floors and the hallway shiplap (that appears to go into the closets!). Love the symmetry of this space with the grand four poster bed & that chandelier! A bold move, but it totally works…

05

FYI: an informative piece when confused when what size rug to get for your bedroom.

Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y’all! It is seriously starting to feel like fall here in Boston. Yesterday the high was in the 70s and I actually was craving something pumpkin! (No PSLs yet, don’t worry #basic). Nothing major on the agenda for me this weekend- I’m thinking some hiking in New Hampshire, some homemade pizza and some football watching (Go Dawgs!). So for now, let’s enjoy some gorgeous spaces together…

Seriously loving this sneak peak into this stunning Montana home – I may have to share a full home tour on this one…

1.jpg

A simple, yet classic master bath setup (also, painting the cabinets is an inexpensive way to update your space…especially you, renters!)…

2

No big deal, just the world’s MOST AMAZING pantry…of all time…

3

Kristin’s entire home is pretty spectacular, but I’m especially loving the gold hardware with the black molding…

4

For those of you living in a small space out there, this is a great solution for a home office…

Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y’all! As you’re reading this, I’m probably already en route to New Jersey for the weekend. We’ve got some dear friends getting married right outside NYC and we couldn’t be more excited. He’s in the entertainment industry and she’s got fabulous style, so I can only imagine how stunning their wedding is going to be. Don’t worry- many pics to come (follow me in instagram: southendstyle or snapchat: alexisf19 to tag along!).

In honor of this weekend’s upcoming nuptials, I’m sharing five of my (current) favorite wedding tablescapes, all very different styles. Enjoy!

This glam wedding is of course an LA dream. The gold chairs, the huge arrangements, the white & soft pink color scheme- so chic, so glam…

1.jpg

With a rustic, nature-filled backdrop like this,  a little greenery is all you need. this space is seriously so gorgeous…

2.jpg

Candles + string lights = the most adorable garden party ever. This wedding just gives off a very peaceful, romantic vibe to me. Love all of the lights hanging from the trellis and the rustic feel of wood and greenery. Simple, yet effective…

3.jpg

While it’s not my style, I can appreciate a modern wedding vibe. I like the classic black & white color scheme, with the low flowers (nothing worse than a tall arrangement that blocks your view, am I right?!)…

4.jpg

This last one is similar to #3, but it’s a bit more romantic & playful with the pops of purple and pink. I like how they introduced color but kept things simple & didn’t take away from the gorgeous Edison bulbs hanging everywhere…
