A few weeks back I was SOOOO excited when I came home and a huge FedEx package was on my front door step. I opened it up and this beauty was inside:
Isn’t she gorgeous?!
I really wasn’t sure what to put over the bed- part of me wanted a Gray Malin, part of my wanted an abstract piece, and part of me wanted a DIY to save cost. After all, I’m in a rental. So I thought long & hard about it and decided that I wanted a reasonably priced beach piece that had meaning. This one is just perfect! It was within my budget and the aerial shot is of San Sebastian, Spain. I’ve spent multiple summers in Spain and I’ve been to this beach, so this picture brings back such happy memories!
If you’re looking for some great ready-to-hang art pieces, I suggest you check out One Kings Lane. Here are a few of my favorites (all under $500!):
Back in late July, I was searching for some artwork for my home (remember this post!?) Well, after much consideration (price / size / style)… I found this fabulous Etsy shop & fell in love with these two prints:
These are hand painted water colors and they are stunning in person. Joanna’s shop is located in Poland, but the paintings came quicker than I expected & packaged safely! She was a delight to work with and I highly recommend her shop if you’re in the market for some new artwork.
I mounted & framed them using this gold frame and wah-la! Beautiful artwork for above the nightstands:
Aren’t they just perfect?! I love the sophistication + the femininity + the softness + the pop of color!
I’ve been searching for the perfect piece(s) to go above my nightstands. My bedroom set up is currently as such:
(Not the best pic, but you get the idea. New side tables & throw pillows coming soon!)
I have semi-low ceilings, so I don’t want to put anything above the 5′ headboard. Instead, I’d like to add a new dimension by framing two 8×10 pieces of art into these 11×14 thin gold frames. Y’all know I like the white/gray/gold combo- the simpler, the better! I considered DIY options- painting or sketching or framing wallpaper, etc but in the end I decided to just buy a couple of prints since an 8×10 is so small. (I’ll save my DIY creative juices for a bigger project!).
I’ve been searching many sites and here are a few of the finalists. Keep in mind I want two pieces- similar, but not necessarily identical.
Happy Tuesday! Sorry for the lack of posting yesterday…my computer was down & well, that’s that…
You may have noticed my Instagram yesterday- I’m currently in the need for a (fairly large) piece of artwork over my sofa. The wall behind my sofa is currently empty, but the adjacent wall holds my gold & white frames in a gallery wall. So I’m definitely wanting just one piece over the sofa. Don’t want the space to feel cluttered. I’ve decided that a Gray Malin is definitely the way to go- I’ve been inspired by his work for months now, and after seeing pieces in showroom after showroom, I’m ready to invest!
Here are some examples of Gray Malin art used in similar homes:
When I was lying in bed last night and googled “white kitchen celebrity dream home” (yup…the things I do at 1am when I can’t sleep), I found the most fabulous home! I’m not sure if it’s a celebrity home, but it’s for sale for a cool $11.7M…no big deal. The 7,580 square foot home is located in Cow Hollow in SF, which is an affluent part of town (hence the price tag). The home was remodeled back in 2013 and is 7 bed/7 bath and is FABULOUS!!!!
Sit back, grab a glass of wine & enjoy this home tour:
There’s so much drool-worthy amazingness happening, I don’t even know where to begin. Leave a comment below with your favorite part of the home!
I mentioned a few months back that art is one area that I’ve never really felt totally comfortable in. I know, I know- art is totally subjective and what one person loves, another loathes. I guess I just haven’t really found anything I loooove enough to consider investing in it. Until now.
I am currently l-o-v-i-n-g oversized art. Revolutionary? No. New to me? Yes. While I won’t be buying one now (because, in case I haven’t mentioned it a million times…I’m in a rental), I am at least finding pieces that speak to me…or whatever curators say.
Anywho, here are some inspirational photos that I’ve found. For some reason, I think these oversized art pieces are just so fabulous- especially in big, open, bright spaces.
Loving both of these nooks with the art…
And this one is my favorite…this room is sheer perfection & started my obsession!
